Jungle Gem Glazes are magical potions in jars! The dramatic effects obtained are almost endless as the crystals melt and flow during firing, letting the colors burst and bloom. The tiny "rocks" in the glaze are crystals of already-fired glazes ground to different sizes and mixed with a liquid base glaze. Three coats are required to produce the proper results. The trick is to evenly disperse the crystals over the desired surface. Jungle Gem Glazes can be used for a decorative finish ONLY on the outside of food containers. Firing to witness cone 06 is recommended for best results. All these glazes are nontoxic and lead-free.
