• International Orders ...
We're sorry, but due to high rates of credit card fraud, we have to turn down orders for international shipment. We currently ship to any address within Canada, the US, and US territories and possessions (including Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, and similar locations). We appreciate your interest in our products, and apologize for the inconvenience.
• Orders for Shipment to Canada ...
We can ship orders to Canada through the post office or through UPS Ground to Canada. Customs charges may apply to these orders.
For packages shipped by mail, Canada Post may charge customs duties when you pick up your package. Fees or duties may vary between different types or classes of items. Please check with Canada Post for details.
For packages shipped by UPS Ground to Canada, UPS pays the customs charges on entering the country. UPS then bills us back for those charges, and we bill them back to you using the credit card number which you supplied when placing your order. We will send you a separate receipt for the customs charges. Working through the entire customs process may take 2-3 weeks.
For large orders shipped by freight truck, we also have a lot of experience working with NAFTA and Canada Customs paperwork for freight companies and customs brokers. Contact us for more information.
• Address Changes or Corrections ...
We cannot be responsible for orders for which we are given incorrect or incomplete addresses. Please check your delivery address carefully, and make sure it's correct. This includes even seemingly simple or obvious details like whether you live on a "Road", "Avenue", or "Street".
Postal and delivery services will not forward deliveries without charging for the extra service, and we have to pass that charge on to you. An additional fee of $20.00 will be passed along to you if an address correction service is required.
• We ship most orders within 3-5 business days ...
On occasion we are out of stock on some items. This may delay shipment of your order. How would you like us to deal with that? See the options below, then please use the Comments box for any special requests.
The time in transit for your order will vary with the size of your order, distance to travel, and method of shipment. UPS requests one business day for each "zone" your package has to cross between our address and yours. UPS' map divides the entire US into five zones: it would be reasonable to expect a week in transit from our location on the West Coast (Portland, Oregon) to an address on the East Coast.
We ship from our Portland store from Monday through Friday. Tracking numbers are sent via email as "noreply@freightpop.com" the same day your package ships out. This is a legitimate email address from us. Please check your junk or spam box if you do not see this in your regular email box.
• Picking up your order in either Portland or Eugene?
Please give us 24 hours notice for orders to pick up (will-call) at our stores in Portland or Eugene. Orders placed late in the day may not be ready for pickup bright and early in the morning of the next day. This is especially true for will-call orders placed on Friday afternoon for pickup on Saturday at the Eugene store. There is no staff at the Portland store on Saturday.
• Please let us know if you have special shipping requests ...
Are there critical items which you absolutely need just as soon as possible? Would you like us to hold your order until we have all the items to send at once? Should we ship what we have in stock and wait for the rest to arrive?

• Flat Rate Box sizes and what they will hold ...
The Medium USPS Flat Rate box holds 25lbs of clay or 6 Pints of glaze for $23.00.
The Large USPS Flat Rate box holds 50lbs of clay or 9 Pints of glaze for $30.00.
If you are ordering 100lbs of clay, this is the cheapest way to ship and our clay will be reshaped to fit the two boxes. The website shipping is based on weight and distance, but we will adjust your order to send it the cheapest way possible and not the amount the website estimates.
• All shipping charges in our shopping cart are estimates ...
UPS and post office shipping charges on our website are based on the total estimated weight of your order, matched up with the shipping distance between your location and ours. The weight estimates may not be accurate, and don't include the weight of boxes and other packing materials. Actual shipping charges on your invoice may vary from the estimates.
At your request we would be happy to call you with the actual charges before shipping your order. Please let us know in the "Special Instructions" box as you fill in your address details.
We surveyed a group of 35 recent orders to check the accuracy of the shipping charge estimates. Of those orders, 17 had shipping charges higher than the estimates, by an average of $1.41. The shipping charges were lower than the estimates for the other 18 orders, by an average of $1.66.
• Freight Quote...
When choosing the option for a "freight quote", the shipping amount will show a "zero" dollar amount in your shopping cart. We will take your order off the website and then contact our freight carriers for the best possible rate that your order will be charged. This does not mean that your shipping cost will be free, it only means that we will have to get the rate quote for your order and we will then contact you to find out if that works for you. Generally freight quotes are for LARGE orders and begin at around $100 and go up depending on the weight and distance your order will be shipped.
The freight cost is door to door - which means from the point of pick up (our location) to drop off at the end of a driveway or loading dock. If you request anything special; like bringing it up a hill, or you are located on a difficult access way, or ask the driver to bring it inside -- an extra charge of $75 - $350 will be billed to you! Be aware that the quote on your invoice will be adjusted if you make any changes to the delivery location. Also - if you are in a residence, but conduct business in your home, you are still considered a "residential" location by the freight company and will be charged the residential rate.
• $3.00 handling & packing charge on orders under $50 ...
For any orders with a net total under $50 (after any quantity discounts), we add a $3 packing and handling charge. This charge helps us avoid having to set a minimum order size. This charge does not apply to orders of $50 or more or for in store pick up..
• Business or School discounts do not appear online ...
We realize that many of you who order from us online are working professional artists, business owners, and teachers or other professionals working with schools, nonprofit agencies and government institutions. You normally receive percentage discounts on many products when you order from us by phone or shop in our stores in Portland and Eugene.
You will still receive these discounts when you order from Georgies online! Unfortunately, our website is not currently 'smart' enough to show those discounts online. We apply those discounts when we receive your order and transfer it into our main computer system.
We work constantly on maintaining and improving our website, and getting those discounts to appear as they should is one of our highest priorities.
• We do not bill your credit card in real time ...
Unlike Amazon or other large online businesses, we do not bill your credit card at the time you place your order. We only bill your credit card when we have your order packaged, weighed, and ready to ship to you. We only bill you for the items we can actually ship, and charge for any backordered items at the time we send them.
If you would prefer that we do not backorder any items that may be out of stock, please let us know. Thanks!
We will call you for your CVV code! This does not transmit for security reasons and we need this to process your order. Thank you for understanding.
• All online orders go to our Portland store first ...
If you place an order to pick up in Eugene, it may not be immediately ready. During the week we send orders for the Eugene store down to them as soon as possible. Be aware that our Portland office staff is not here on the weekend, so orders placed Friday afternoon through Sunday will be sent to Eugene the following business day.
Call us within 10 days if there is a problem with your order. We work hard to make sure your order is correct, but mistakes happen. We are here to help ...
Georgies Privacy Policy
- When you send us your order, we will record your name, address, phone number and email address in our store computer system for future reference. Your name may be added to our mailing list for weekly email newsletters. If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, please let us know. We'll respond to your request right away.
- We use a third-party shopping cart service for our website. Your order will be stored in a secure server until we download it on the next business day through a secure data connection. As an additional security measure, we do not record your credit or debit card information in our store computer unless you specifically ask that we do.
- We do not sell, rent, lend, lease, share or trade our mailing lists to any third parties or other businesses.
